Time has come to find out the final verdict: who was the best referee of the world during the year 2011?. And the answer take us to Turkmenistan, Asia: claps your hand for Vadim Baratov, winner of the Best Referee of the World category for the Umbro Futsal Awards 2011!
Domestic glory Vadim Baratov is an absolute example and guide for referees in Turkmenistan, beeing the only international representative in the country since 2003. Top league games are Baratov's property in the national league and the local FA confirmed this reality by appointing him for the couple of most important clashes in Turkmenistan: Hereket vs Arvana and Nesil vs Vatanchy. In order to have "all things right" he was also selected for the semifinals and final of the student league on past December. Sure reference.
Refereeing means more than using a whistle Men in black's tasks are not over on the 40x20 parquet, as they can have an important role on the new generations formation. And that's definitely the case of Vadim Baratov who run four futsal laws of the game seminars during the year, two of them destined to young referees. Also, he took part in the latest FIFA didactic video test. More than the pitch.
Summer sweet summer June 2011, all the best asian referees are there. Where? In Doha, Qatar: the AFC Futsal Club Championships are waiting for them, one of the most important worldwide clubs competition is surely in need of worth referees. Baratov's name emerges in a good amount of games, but the real goal is just one: the grand final. The Japanese side Nagoya Oceans get an historical win over their iranian counterparts Shahid Mansouri, at the end of the extra times. Standard and spectacle are guaranteed by the players and "protected" by the whistle of the first referee of the game: Vadim Baratov.
