UEFA Women's Futsal EURO 2027 main round and elite round draw

The qualifying draw at 13:30 CET on Friday will set the groups leading to the expanded eight-team finals in Croatia.

The 2027 UEFA European Women's Futsal Championship qualifying draw at 13:30 CET on Friday 12 December will decide the groups that begin the fourth edition – the first since the switch from a biennial four-team final tournament to an eight-nation event held every four years.

Qualifying for UEFA Women's Futsal EURO 2027 will be in three stages: main round, elite round and play-off. Croatia automatically qualify for the final tournament at Arena Gradski Vrt in Osijek as hosts.


The qualifying draw covers both the main and elite rounds. Of the 23 qualifying entrants, each participating association starts the competition according to the UEFA Women’s National Futsal Team Coefficient Rankings.

The 12 lowest-ranked associations begin the competition in the main round (running from 17 to 22 March 2026) and are drawn into three groups of four teams. The remaining 11 enter in the elite round (running from 6 to 11 October 2026), joined by five qualifiers from the preliminary round.

Six teams will qualify from the elite round to join Croatia in the finals, with one more to emerge from a two-nation play-off in November 2026. Spain will aim to defend the title having won the first three editions in 2019, 2022 and 2023.

MAIN ROUND DRAW PROCEDURE AND SEEDING POTS

The 12 lowest-ranked associations start the competition in the main round and are drawn into three groups of four teams. For each pot, the teams are allocated in alphabetical order and drawn to Groups A to C.

The winner of each group and the two best runners-up qualify for the elite round.

Pot 1: Hosts

Lithuania (Seeding position 4)
Norway (Seeding position 3)

The hosts are drawn into Groups A to B. They will be assigned according to their position in the rankings.


Pot 2: Seeding position 4

Kazakhstan
Latvia

The two teams are drawn into the remaining position 4 in Groups A to C.

Pot 3: Seeding position 3

Northern Ireland
England

The two teams are drawn into the remaining position 3 in Groups A to C.


Pot 4: Seeding position 2

Belarus
Serbia
France

The three teams are drawn into position 2 in Groups A to C.

Pot 5: Seeding position 1

Slovenia
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Czechia

The last three teams of this stage are drawn into position 1 in Groups A to C.


ELITE ROUND DRAW PROCEDURE AND SEEDING POTS

The 16 teams are split into four groups of four teams and are drawn according to their coefficient ranking. Teams are allocated into Groups 1 to 4 in ascending order.

The three main round group winners and the two best runners-up join the 11 best-ranked associations to compete in the elite round.

The highest-ranked main round group winner is placed in Pot 9 alongside the teams assigned to position 3, while the second and third best-ranked group winners are placed in Pot 7 in position 4 together with the two best runners-up.

Based on a decision taken by the UEFA Executive Committee, Ukraine and Belarus cannot be drawn into the same group. Should Belarus qualify from the main round, and be drawn into the same group as Ukraine, they will be swapped with the team in position 4 in the next group in ascending order.

The winner of each group and the two best runners-up in the elite round qualify directly for the UEFA Women’s Futsal EURO 2027 along with hosts Croatia.

The two bottom-ranked runners-up qualify for the home-and-away play-off that will determine the last qualified team.

The hosts are drawn into Groups 1 and 2. They will be assigned according to their position in the rankings.

The two bottom-ranked group winners and the two best runners-up are drawn in ascending order in Groups 1 to 4.

The three teams are drawn into position 3 in Groups 1 to 4, missing out the group which already has a host assigned to that position.

The four teams are drawn into position 2 in Groups 1 to 4.

Ukraine
Hungary

The three teams are drawn into position 1 in Groups 1 to 4, missing out the group which already has a host assigned to that position.

Main round: 17 to 22 March 2026
Elite round: 6 to 11 October 2026
Play-off: 12 to 26 November 2026
Finals draw: tbc
Final tournament (Osijek, Croatia): 14 to 21 March 2027


UEFA WOMEN'S FUTSAL EURO 2027 FORMAT

QUALIFYING:

Main round

The teams will compete in single-venue mini-tournaments of three or four countries (the exact number depending on the level of entries).

All group winners and, if necessary, the best runner(s)-up qualify for the elite round.

Elite round

The teams entering directly in the elite round are joined by the main round qualifiers. These 16 sides will be drawn into four groups of four, played as single-venue mini-tournaments.

The four group winners and two best runners-up qualify for the final tournament. The two lowest-ranking runners-up go into the play-off.

Play-off

A two-legged tie determines the last qualifier for the final tournament. The fourth-ranked elite round runner-up will be at home to the third-ranked elite round runner-up in the first leg.

FINAL TOURNAMENT:

Hosts Croatia and the seven qualifiers are drawn into two groups of four. The top two teams in each group progress to the knockout phase starting with the semi-finals.
