On March 16-17, for the first time in the history of this sport, a gathering of the youth national futsal team took place in the country. The squad is basically an under 23 selection with some out of quota players.

The newly appointed head coach Delyan Koychev sent call-ups to 15 talents defending the club colors of Levski SZ, Amigo Northwest Futsal, Ruse, IU Varna and CSKA Futsal.

Such an event opens a new significant page in the history of Bulgarian futsal, creating all the prerequisites for the increasingly successful development of the sport in the country.

The team training stage was held at the NSA Hall in Sofia and included intensive sessions coupled with tactical instructions.

The youth demonstrated not only their skills in futsal, but also showed that they are extremely motivated to leave their lasting mark on Bulgarian futsal.

"This is a good start for us" - shared the selector Delyan Koychev. "Almost all Balkan countries have such youth teams, with which the national futsal selections are fed, and therefore I am extremely happy that we are also going in the right direction."

The next goal for the youth national team will be participation in international tournaments. "We believe that this gathering is just the beginning of a successful career for Bulgaria's young futsal talents," Koychev added.
