A new African experience, a new ambitious challenge. After leading Angola towards brilliant results and achievements (including their second place in the CAF TotalEnergies Futsal Africa Cup of Nations 2024 in Morocco and consequent qualification to the World Cup 2024 in Uzbekistan) Marcos Antunes is ready for the next task.

Today the Namibian Football Association has appointed him as new head coach, looking for the imminent Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2026 qualifiers first stage, in which Namibia will face Kenya in a double leg challenge. In case of success, they will have tough rivals Libya in the second round, trying to obtain the definitive access for the final tournament.

As reported by NFA website his appointment signals Namibia’s ambition to strengthen its futsal programme, build a competitive national team, and make a strong statement in the CAF Futsal AFCON 2026.
